I agree with Xellos, after the sales of Xenosaga in the US have come through they may consider releasing it. They stated that they "had no plans to release 'Xenosaga' in UK, however this may change", so its possible that they may release it here, but would you want to wait a year to find out that in fact they decided not to?
Im still contemplating my next move on the matter, but if they dont release episode 1, we can wave goodbye to episodes 2 to 6 aswell. Thats how important it is that this game is released in europe, its gauranteeing the release of the sequels because Namco will see how well the first episode is selling in europe.
But if they dont, then im going to have to go into the dodgy business of modding, and have to pay import prices for 6 games- it would be worth it, but i would much rather a shitty PAL release.
Overall, its namco who will be losing out, because you can sure as hell bet that i wont.

I dont mind how many Final Fantasy's there are, im a big fan of all rpg's, and squares original rpg series never fail to supply me with an above average representation of the genre.

Oh, and shampoochan, they have tried their hand at different types of games...but failed miserably in most cases unfortunately. Thats why they inject so much money into Final Fantasy, they know they cant win at much else other than RPG's.

Hee hee hee... what is the funny point in releasing another Chrono game? that they were done by Radical Dreamer, the ones that released Xenogears, and the ones that have done Xenosaga. (if i'm not wrong)

Namco has spent money doing a publicitary campaing in the US, at least, you can see ads about it in E-Bay and such webpages stating "let the Saga take you", so, if the game don't sell well in US, it won't be because it is unknown.

Personally, i think that Xenosaga is just too good and too big to be ignored in the european (not only UK) market If they do it well, it will surpass FF, because, even if each game has nothing to see with the previous, the saga is a single Full story. FF series is losing, IMO, the charisma it had. each passing FF is a copy from the previous. And a smart method to keep people getting your games is sell a full sotry with them..

The only breathtaking FF game was the 7th one, the other simply weren't that good, though, they improved over its graphics. but still FFVII has something that all the others don't. And a proof are the characters that were included in KH for example...

But to sell well Xenosaga in Europe they MUST do a correct localisation in European countries. The game has voices, so, they should be dubbed. And of course, the texts translated (and here comes the hard point in releasing Xenosaga in the European market): 6 languages at least, not only english, but spanish, french, italian, german and dutch.

I'd have no problem in reading and understanding english, but most players would like to see it in their languaje. So, to sell well Xenosaga, they must translate it, and that is the risk in releasing a game in the european market. Sadly, it is like that. But also, Shenmue II was released here in Europe just in english texts, and i bet it sold well.

Your right!

Squaresoft decided to make a text based adventure for the SNES using the new satallite-view add-on, only being released in japan, named Radical Dreamers. It had great music by Yasunori Mitsuda, but that was about it really.
Then, a few years later, after the release of FFVI, squaresoft worked together with people from Enix to bring Chrono Trigger, a vague sequel to the story of Radical Dreamers. Also, this project was helped by Akira Toriyama.

After realising the success of Chrono Trigger in both Japan and the US, the members of Enix decided to stay at square to work on future games for them. This is the point at which Tetsuyo Takahashi approached the team, with the ambitious story of xenogears at hand, Square only had the budget to do one of these, so Tetsuyo Takahashi decided to do episode 5, and publish all the others in a book (Xenogears Perfect Works).
The project was originally meant for the SNES, but it ended up being released for the playstation after 4 long years in development, longer than even the likes of FFVII. However, it wasnt quite completed as they had well passed their budget and had to rush to finish it.

Later, the same team designed Chrono Cross, a reinterpretation of Radical Dreamers, only set out as a sequel to Chrono Trigger. This time, the artist Nobuteru Yuuki (from Vision of Escaflowne fame)doing the character designs.
Then, the team decided to form Monolith Soft, under namco's wing.
So essentially, what we have in Monlithsoft is a mix of square and enix members, with one of the best game music composers in the business, Yasunori Mitsuda, BUT they cant actually make a sequel to either xenogears and chrono chross/trigger because square owns the rights to them.
Thats why xenogears references in xenosaga are scarce, but noticable to the devoted xenofans. What i would like to know, is whats to become of the chrono series, who will make it?
